Qualification Overview

Qualification overview and academic direction.

Networks don't run themselves. And the organisations that keep the world's digital infrastructure moving need people who know exactly what they're doing. This is the qualification that gets you there. The ATHE Level 5 Extended Diploma in Computing (NetDevOps Engineer) is a 120-credit, Ofqual-regulated qualification at higher education level, designed for people who want to specialise in network engineering, DevOps operations, cybersecurity and cloud infrastructure. It sits at the same level as the second year of a university degree and is your direct route into a full BSc or BEng at a UK university. The course builds on computing foundations and gives you access to pathway learning for role-based occupational development. It takes a blended learning approach, combining core computer management units with specialist technical optional units athe — so you build the professional grounding every employer expects, plus the deep technical expertise that sets you apart. The qualification finishes with a substantial synoptic project where you bring together everything you've learned and apply it to a real-world scenario. It's not just a test — it's proof of what you can do. This qualification can be delivered in the classroom, via distance learning, or blended, and is available both part-time and full-time. All assessments are assignment-based — no exams. Advanced Learner Loans are available in the UK for eligible students.
