A Level 4 qualification in a related field, such as computing, information technology, or mathematics. Alternatively, candidates with substantial relevant work experience in the IT sector may also be considered.

On successful completion of these qualifications, learners will have a number of progression options. Learners may progress to: 1. Employment in a computing role or have increased opportunities for progression in their current role 2. A Level 6/7 ATHE qualification such as the ATHE Level 7 Extended Diploma in Computing 3. The final year of degree programmes at universities supporting the ATHE progression route
